As our two hostels in Skardu can only accommodate a limited number of children while the demand for higher education continues to grow, we have constructed a school for boys and girls in the upper Braldo Valley.
Here, children from the surrounding villages will receive high-quality education starting from the 1st grade. The teachers will be carefully selected and adequately paid. The school will provide education up to the 10th grade, after which the young people can attend college and then proceed to university. This project will at last give all children in the upper Braldo Valley the chance to pursue higher education. The opening of the school is expected in the spring of 2025.
The project is generously supported by Sternstunden e.V. of BR, the Bavarian radio and TV company.

Himalaya-Karakorum e.V.
The non-profit organization supports people living in difficult conditions in the mountains of the Himalayas and Karakoram, on the edge of the settlement border and always on the edge of their livelihood. The aim is to help the villagers to survive in their ancestral homeland, based on the principle of helping people to help themselves. The primary goal is to ensure that our help will no longer be necessary in the foreseeable future.
